Howdy do...Hopefully you enjoyed your long weekend. I actually went out to S.D. to hang with the parental types Saturday and Sunday. Nice weather.

Had something happen that has never happened before: Had to prove my citizenship by showing I.D. to the Border Patrol inside California.

Must be by swarthy Latin lover type looks...

Of course, I lived.

I actually had to show I.D. to pay a bill a credit card bill last week.

The whining by people over SB 1070 is astonishing. Heard a woman that I used to have respect for, bitching about everything Arizona, SB 1070 in particular, the other night.

Says she can't wait to move.

So leave already and don't let the sahuaros hit you in the ass as you go. Wherever she's going, it's their loss and our gain.

'Dumbass' all week is things that go "...Boom!" I'll be signing you up for our Flyaway to San Diego to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers and I'll have tickets to see Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat.

I'm supposed to talk with Roger Earl the drummer for Foghat. I gotta ask just what the Hell is a 'foghat'?

'Word mah bruthas and sistahs...Labor Day weekend and the unofficial end of Summer. Of course if you've lived here for a year or so, you know Summer ends sometime around the end of October and starts up again in February.

It usually seems to start the weekend I decide to go to the Rennaisance Festival.

Huuricane Earl comes a' callin' this weeknd in the Northeast; maybe it'll sink Kerry's yacht.

Hee hee hee....

Anyhoo, next week I'll be talking to James Wright. He's the man who maintains that Jimi Hendrix was murdered and didn't die accidentally.

It's a gruesome story and he names the culprit.

'Lick It' on Wednesday will be the year 1977 and 'Dumbass' all next week is things that go 'Boom!'.

Tickets for Blue Oyster Cult and Foghat up for grabs too. I can't wait for that show on Zeptember 17th @ Celebrity Theater.

Watching how Hurricane Earl is getting to feast on the East..it's a monster storm. They have buoys out in the Mid-Atlantic that measure storms : Barometric pressure, winds, waves etc.

The bouys shut off after the waves hit fifty ft.

They shut down yesterday.

Damn.

With any luck it'll go up the Potomac and wash away D.C.

Greetings and felicitations my fellow citizens!

I love the view out of the window here at the KSLX studios. Every morning I get to see the Sun coming up on Squaw Peak and it's truly inspiring. Neat too to see how thelight has changed from that unforgiving bright of high Summer to the softer glint of impending Autumn.

I know it's still hotter than sweet f.a. but a guy can dream can't he?

I see there's a another Hollywood halfwit running around loose: John Cusack

Look his most recent comments about Fox, the G.O.P. etc.

Word.

Labor Day just around the corner-looks like most folks are keeping close to home.That's what the poll at kslx.com indicates at least.

Talking with Anne Wilson of Heart on Thursday, and I'll have a copy of their new cd 'Red Velvet Car' to give you. Also this week, I'm speaking with James 'Tappy' Wright. He was called the '6th Animal' and was that band's roadie back in the early to mid 60's.

He worked with all sorts of people from Herman's Hermits, Ike and Tina Turner, met Elvis, Chuck Berry all sorts of people. His main gig was working with Jimi Hendrix and he states quite categorically that Hendrix was murdered.

You decide for yourself. I'll play that back on Friday morning.

Hard to believe Summer's almost gone...Now, mind you, I'm GLAD it's almost gone. But I still can't get my poxy little head around it.

Interesting weekend in D.C. Spin doctors working overtime to tell us what really happened. Comes back to this: Who ya gonna believe, the Press or your lyin' eyes?

I see how El Jefe says he "...didn't pay any attention." to the march in the Capitol. Glad to see how much he really cares about what the American people think.

Mucho disgust across the fertile plains with our First Lady and her ridiculously expensive Spanish vacation at OUR expense.

Maybe the economy looks ok to her and her idiot advisers, but we have to pay for the Secret Service and Air Force Two.

That's just what they admit to.

And it's her 8th vacation this Summer.

People can't find jobs and they do this.

Got a phone call from a woman this morning asking me to play 'Give Peace A Chance' and dedicate it to the memory of the people who died on this date in1945 at Hiroshima.

I said 'no'.

She asked: "...Why?!?!?"

I told her that there wouldn't have been a 'Hiroshima' if there hadn't of been a 'Pearl Harbor'.

She called me a bad name and hung up.

I'll probably live.

My evil twin Skippy also wanted to know tht if they can build a mosque at the site of the WTC, can the Air Force build one in Hiroshima and Nagasaki?

Hot, hot and more hot for the next couple days, humidity way down though.

August 22nd is 'National Feral Cat Day'. People are going to fan out all across the country to trap, neuter and release feral cats. A good thing that you can help out with. We just 'tnr'd a feral cat from our hood and she's doing fine.

Best of all, she won't be having litter after litter of kittens that starve to death, get run over, taken by coyotes or end up euthanized at a shelter.

Speaking of animals, I see how Big Sis and the Dept Of Homeland Insecurity are planning on buying thousands of dogs from breeders.

Greetings fellow planeteers...How do?

Coming up August 22nd a very important thing: National Feral Cat Day. This is the day thast volunteers across the country fan out with humane traps to catch, spay or neuter and then release feral cats. This is a really good thing to do. We just trapped, spayed and released a feral cat that had been hanging around our house, and she seems to be doing just fine.

Anything that helps keep down the feral cat population is a good thing. Think about it: If the street cats reproduce, the kittens quite often either end up starving to death, or get run over or dumped at a shelter to get euthanized.
